Semper Media Center (SPMC) is the most well-known Kodi alternative for Android. SPMC’s creator Koying is a former member of the official Kodi development team. After he left the Kodi team about a year ago, Koying started pushing out regular updates for SPMC. I know SPMC is supposed to be Shield optimised but it seems that's all 'under the hood' type stuff that if you don't really need it makes the need for SPMC questionable, for me at least.
